  • Proven experience in large-scale applied superconductivity (at least 15 years) (30 Points)
  • Proven experience in design, manufacture, and assembly of large superconducting magnets for fusion (at least 15 years) (20 Points)
  • Proven experience in project management and production management (at least 15years) (10 Points)
  • Proven record of in-situ troubleshooting and problem-solving in a large component manufacturing I assembly workshop (20 Points)
  • Good knowledge of the international and Japanese domestic standards, e.g. JIS, JSME applicable to TF Coil Structures manufacturing, and EN, ISO, ASTM applicable to Feeder manufacturing I acceptance tests (10 Points)
  • Capability to work in English and Japanese languages (10 Points).

Fusion for Energy has been requested by the ITER Organization to nominate companies, institutions or other entities that are capable of providing support for “Implementation and Support of PDM/PLM Solutions” as described in the Technical Summary.

The potential Candidates should have a recognized level of expertise, competence and references in the field mentioned above. The ITER Organization will invite them to prequalify.

Participation is open to all legal persons participating either individually or in a grouping (consortium) which is established in an ITER Member State. A legal person cannot participate individually or as a consortium partner in more than one application or tender. A consortium may be a permanent, legally-established grouping or a grouping, which has been constituted informally for a specific tender procedure. All members of a consortium (i.e. the leader and all other members) are jointly and severally liable to the ITER Organization.

The consortium groupings shall be presented at the pre-qualification stage. The tenderer's composition cannot be modified without the approval of the ITER Organization after the pre-qualification.

Legal entities belonging to the same legal grouping are allowed to participate separately if they are able to demonstrate independent technical and financial capacities. Candidates (individual or consortium) must comply with the selection criteria. The 10 reserves the right to disregard duplicated reference projects and may exclude such legal entities from the pre-qualification procedure.

A legal person cannot participate individually or as a consortium partner in more than one application or tender. A consortium may be a permanent, legally-established grouping or a grouping, which has been constituted informally for a specific tender procedure. All members of a consortium (i.e. the leader and all other members) are jointly and severally liable to the ITER Organization.

As a reminder, awarded consortium member or sub-contractor of the Construction-as-Agent (CMA) shall not participate in the major following works contracts:

In accordance with the ITER Organization procurement rules for call for tenders, this call for nominations is open to all members of the ITER Organization. However, due to technical constraints, the perspective tenderers shall be technically and legally authorized to deliver electricity to the ITER site located at Route de Vinon-sur-Verdon, 13067 St Paul Lez Durance, France, which is connected to the French 400 kV portion of the synchronous grid of Continental Europe (Also known as the "Continental Synchronous Area" and previously as the "UCTE grid").

  • Experience in Structural Finite Element Analysis (linear and nonlinear, thermal, seismic etc.)
    Knowledge of engineering calculations, mechanics, strength of materials, analysis of mechanical components, piping support structures, bellows and pressure vessels codes has to be demonstrated during the professional experience.
  • Experience in ANSYS software (Mechanical/Workbench/CFX) is mandatory.
  • Experience in CAESAR II software is mandatory.
  • Experience to apply the design rules defined in RCC-MR, ASME Section VIII Div.2 ami ASME B31.3 Category M codes (see (1 ], [2] & [3])
  • Experience in Thermal Hydraulic Analysis will be considered as an advantage.
  • Experience in preparation and/ or submission of analysis report to the Agreed Notified Body (ANB) which is required by a regulator (ASN/ Autorité de Sureté Nucléaire or other) as a third party inspector would be an advantage.
  • Experience in the analysis of fusion devices components or nuclear components, knowledge of the ITER project and major systems of ITER will be considered as an advantage.
  • Sufficient experience with CATIA v5 to interact with the design office.
  • Sufficient experience to deliver the scope of work with independent autonomy.
  • Fluency in English

Fusion for Energy has been requested by the ITER Organization to invite companies, institutions or other entities to provide offers for the provision of suitably qualified experts to perform the “Evaluation of runaway generation mechanisms and current profile shape effects on the power deposited onto ITER plasma facing components during the termination phase of disruptions”.

Interested experts shall propose their candidacy in accordance with the following documents:

Evaluation:
Proposals will be evaluated and the contract awarded on the basis of best value for money (60% quality – 40% price)

ITER intends to evaluate the CVs and implementation plans submitted, as part of the evaluation of the quality of the proposal (60% weight), using the following award criteria set forth below:

  • 5% on the experience in plasma physics R&D for controlled nuclear fusion devices
  • 25% on the experience in runaway physics R&D in particular for ITER-relevant conditions
  • 5% on the experience in producing scientific reports in English
  • 25% for the implementation plan
