Big Science Business Forum 2018 announces speakers and full programme, Copenhagen, 26-28 February 2018

Big Science Business Forum 2018 (BSBF2018) – Europe’s new one-stop-shop for businesses, suppliers and stakeholders on the Big Science market – has published its main speakers, parallel session details and the social programme. The key note speech will be given by Carlos Moedas, EU’s Commissioner of Research, Science and Innovation, followed by representatives from Europe’s biggest Big Science organisations. BSBF2018 will take place in Copenhagen on 26-28 February 2018.

The participating Big Science organisations will address the investment potential of Europe’s Big Science market. F4E holds a prominent position amongst the nine participating Big Science organisations (CERN, EMBL, ESA, ESO, ESRF, ESS, European XFEL, and the ILL), a recognition of its scientific excellence and statute reached as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary.

The BSBF2018 parallel sessions, at the heart of the conference, are designed to provide in-depth knowledge about Europe’s Big Science organisations’ future investments within specific Big Science areas. The 16 Big Science areas have been defined by the nine Big Science organisations as particular relevant if you want to understand and operate the Big Science market.

Parallel sessions include for example 1) procurement, IPR and standards or 2) cryogenic technology and 3) vacuum and leak detection technologies, just to name three examples. Each session is moderated by an expert within the field, and the Big Science organisations have appointed experts to participate in the sessions. To see the final session descriptions and which Big Science organisations who will speak at each session, see the session details. For more information about the overall programme, see BSBF2018’s programme overview
