Big Science Business Forum 2018 announces speakers and full programme, Copenhagen, 26-28 February 2018
Big Science Business Forum 2018 (BSBF2018) – Europe’s
new one-stop-shop for businesses, suppliers and stakeholders on the Big Science
market – has published its main speakers, parallel session details and the
social programme. The key note speech will be given by Carlos Moedas, EU’s
Commissioner of Research, Science and Innovation, followed by representatives
from Europe’s biggest Big Science organisations. BSBF2018 will take place in
Copenhagen on 26-28 February 2018.
The participating Big Science organisations will
address the investment potential of Europe’s Big Science market. F4E holds a
prominent position amongst the nine participating Big Science organisations
(CERN, EMBL, ESA, ESO, ESRF, ESS, European XFEL, and the ILL), a recognition of
its scientific excellence and statute reached as it celebrates its 10-year
The BSBF2018 parallel sessions, at the heart of the
conference, are designed to provide in-depth knowledge about Europe’s Big
Science organisations’ future investments within specific Big Science areas.
The 16 Big Science areas have been defined by the nine Big Science
organisations as particular relevant if you want to understand and operate the
Big Science market.
Parallel sessions include for example 1) procurement,
IPR and standards or 2) cryogenic technology and 3) vacuum and leak detection
technologies, just to name three examples. Each session is moderated by an
expert within the field, and the Big Science organisations have appointed
