European industry invited to participate in the ITER Business Forum 2011 (IBF/11)

ITER Business Forum 2011

European industry is invited to participate in “ITER Business Forum 2011” (IBF/11), which will take place in Manosque, France, on 7 and 8 December 2011. This event is organised with the support of F4E Industrial Liaison Officers Network, F4E and ITER Organization, as well as local partners of the French ITER industrial Committee, the regional network of Chambers of Trade and Industry, the Community of Municipalities Luberon Durance Verdon and the Welcome Office for International Companies (WOIC).

IBF/11 aims to provide European industry with updated information on the status of ITER project, the procurement process and forthcoming calls for tenders over the next two years. The plenary talk will be given by Rich Hawryluk, ITER Deputy Director-General and Head of the Administration Department featuring a general overview of ITER progress. This general overview will be followed by a second talk focusing on topics of high interest to the European industry: ITER and its industry involvement, the ITER Organization’s procurement policy, upcoming calls for tenders. The plenary session will be followed by a set of thematic workshops, each with participation of IO staff: purchasing procedures of IO and F4E, ITER internal components, diagnostics, Tokamak and buildings design integration, Codac, machine assembly, Hot Cell and Remote Handling System.

The second aim of IBF/11 is to improve the mutual understanding between ITER and industry. In order to facilitate contacts, business to business meetings (“one to one”) can be arranged online from beginning of November until 5 December. A dedicated dinner will take place on 7 December enhancing networking. Finally, a visit will be offered to the ITER Site enabling the IBF/11 participants to measure the scale of this project with their own eyes.

We especially invite companies from Europe to take advantage of this opportunity to get in direct contact with the ITER Organization, F4E and other partners involved in the world-spanning ITER project. Companies from within Europe can contact their national ILO for any additional information.

In order to participate, pre-registration is necessary. Further details regarding registration and other matters linked to the event can be found on the ITER Business Forum website.
