Providing information and networking opportunities for British companies related to fusion, the “Business Opportunities for UK plc for Fusion and ITER” meeting was held in Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE) on 23 September.
The British industry is among the industries to have won several contracts so far from construction of the ITER fusion project, and obviously there is a high interest to benefit from the coming opportunities. Therefore, more than 100 companies attended the one-day conference at which representatives from F4E, ITER, UKTI, CCFE engineers and British companies working on ITER projects described the procurement procedure and tendering process and reviewed the future business opportunities and engineering challenges in the next phase of the ITER construction.
Around 30 companies also participated in “Meet the Buyers sessions”, i.e. pre-allocated short face-to-face meetings with F4E representatives where they could discuss their products and to what field within ITER, these could apply. F4E representatives strongly encouraged relevant companies to register on the F4E industry portal database.
F4E and Research Instruments complete the contract on schedule.
F4E Fusion Observatory report analyses competing models in US, China and Europe.
F4E, Spain, Japan, Croatia and Italy will cooperate to build IFMIF-DONES.
