Join F4E at MIIFED-IBF 2016

The Monaco International ITER Fusion Energy Days (MIIFED) have become one of the meeting points where representatives from the seven parties of the biggest scientific energy project, multiple companies already involved, and those expressing an appetite to contribute with industrial expertise gather and get down to business.

This MIIFED edition, however, comes with a business twist aiming to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of all participants: the organisers of the ITER Business Forum (IBF) have joined forces to convert this event into the rendezvous of deals. Companies from all over the world will have the opportunity to learn more about the progress of the project, the different manufacturing activities unfolding around the globe, the upcoming tenders and network in specific thematic sessions with those eager to compete. Business to business meetings will also be planned to help participants clarify any doubts they may have on procurement or offer them guidance in terms of the mix of competences needed to put together a competitive bid. An optional programme will be offering participants the possibility to visit the ITER construction site or the industrial facilities of some of the contractors.

The newly appointed Director of F4E, Johannes Schwemmer, will be addressing representatives of industry explaining what has been achieved so far and what can be done in future to secure the success of the project. F4E members of staff working in different technical teams, market intelligence and procurement will also be present to take questions from industry. As always, F4E will have a corporate stand where attendees can meet our staff and get the latest information material.

Last but not least, the Monaco/ITER Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme allows five young scientists from the seven ITER parties or from the Principality of Monaco to receive a fellowship over a period of two years and to be trained in research areas related to the ITER project. For those interested in pushing forward the state of fusion R&D, the call for the new fellowships is now open.
