What’s been happening on the ITER site lately?

ITER construction site August 2011

See the developments and progress made on the Tokamak and Poloidal Field coils buildings during August by playing the two brand new clips just published on our YouTube channel and our multimedia library.

The Tokamak building clip shows the pouring and levelling of the 110,000m3 of concrete necessary for the Tokamak pit excavation to form part of the basemat as well as the establishing of plinths which will act as a support for the upper basemat.

The clip about the Poloidal Fields coils building primarily shows the work carried out on cladding activities and the construction of offices. The next step will be the assembling and testing of the 90 tonne crane which will be delivered shortly.
