800 tonnes on the move

Crossing 41 villages of France’s Provence to reach the ITER construction site while driving a vehicle that is 33 m long, 10 m high, 9 m wide, that together with its load weighs 800 tonnes and has 352 tyres, is no easy task!
We bring you exclusive footage from the well-orchestrated campaign of the ITER convoy, undertaken by the French authorities between 16-20 September, so that you witness the historic moment of the convoy making its way to the ITER site.
We met with Pierre-Marie Delplanque, Agence ITER France, to find out more about the preparatory works undertaken for the test drive. We spoke to Eric Pangole, F4E, in order to understand the importance of this milestone for Europe and we conclude with François Genevey, who explained the role of DAHER in this exercise.
