F4E strengthens cooperation with FAIR Scientific Research facility

The international accelerator facility FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research in Europe), one of the largest research projects worldwide, is being built in Darmstadt, Germany. When it becomes operational in 2025, FAIR will provide scientists from all over the world new insights into the structure of matter and the evolution of the universe from the Big Bang to the present. The FAIR shareholders include Finland, France, Germany, India, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia and Sweden. The United Kingdom is associated while the Czech Republic is an aspirant partner. The cooperation agreement with F4E will allow the two organisations to strengthen and facilitate scientific and administrative collaboration to exploit synergies between in particular in their industrial activities, including industrial policies, market intelligence, contracts management, standardisation of quality criteria and procurement practices.
