F4E Supply Chain Days, 30 September – 2 October 2025

Three days for industry and SMEs to engage and learn about fusion procurement and contract management.
Europe’s supply chain holds the key to the successful delivery of ITER components, and our ambition to reach commercial fusion. To highlight the importance of our commercial partners, Fusion for Energy has decided to host its first-ever Supply Chain Days, on 30 September – 2 October, in person and online. The event offers the possibility to companies of all sizes to network and become more familiar with fusion business opportunities. Participants will learn more about F4E’s procurement and contract management practices, share their experiences and meet other delegates from Europe’s fusion ecosystem.
The agenda will have a different focus each day to cover a range of topics:
Day 1 (30 September) – Contracts Day
F4E will present the initiatives to reinforce Europe’s fusion industry, like the collaboration framework with private fusion initiatives or the technology transfer programme. Then, the discussion will shift to the different contract approaches and the use of the F4E Model Contract Toolbox, with several practical case studies. F4E will unveil the Collaborative Contract for Integrated Fusion Project Delivery, a new model developed with King’s College London and the support of industry experts. Finally, a panel will debate the challenges, success factors and tips for collaborative contracting.
Day 2 (1 October) – Sustainability Day
Sustainability in procurement means integrating environmental, social or economic considerations in the decisions along the procurement and contract life cycles. The second day will be dedicated to sustainability practices in the supply chain and potential initiatives, building on the lessons from the survey carried out by F4E earlier in the year. In addition, there will be a participatory leadership exercise to contribute to F4E’s Sustainability Roadmap. This plan aims to set the priorities and actions for developing a competitive European fusion supply chain and industry base.
Day 3 (2 October) – SME Day
After last year’s success, F4E is organising the second edition of the SME Day. The goal is to connect innovative small and medium-sized enterprises and facilitate their participation in fusion business opportunities. F4E will present a list of actions supporting SMEs, ranging from procurement processes and financial incentives to engagement and communication. Several companies will also showcase their success stories as part of the ITER supply chain. Attendants will be able to meet various Industrial Liaison Officers (ILOs) and have one-to-one consultations with F4E’s procurement officers and contract managers.
During the three days, there will be ample time for participants to network informally and exchange views. “The Supply Chain Days are an open door for companies who want to be part of the fusion community and explore the business potential of the sector. We will all learn from each other and hopefully foster valuable partnerships within the industry,”says Karoly Olajos, Head of Procurement at F4E.
